Carers 2020

If you are a carer it is important that you let the practice know because as a carer you are eligible for the following:

  • Flu vaccination
  • Annual carer health check
  • Flexible appointments

To recognise the contributions that unpaid carers make to their families and their community there is a nationwide annual "Carers Week" usually the second week of June. "Carers Week" this year will be from 8th to 14th June. For further information about "Carers Week" and how to get involved follow please see

We feel that caring for someone is an important and valuable role in the community, which is often a 24-hour job that can be very demanding and isolating for the carer. Therefore during Carers Week the practice normally holds a Carer's Cream Tea at the surgery where carers have an opportunity to meet up with other cares in the local community. In addition the practice also invites a number of organisations that provide help and advice to carers. As a carer you will receive an invitation to the Carer's Cream Tea either via a text message or a letter nearer to the event.
